UK Government proves spineless.

Cameron's UK Government proves spineless, gutless and complacent as it bows to it's US masters

Whilst all eyes are focused on the shenanigans of Europe, the little Englanders are jumping up and down claiming that successive governments have handed over sovereignty to Europe, a new danger lurks on the horizon, another notch racked up proving the existence of a global economy and in this case a global government headed by USA.

Richard O' O’Dwyer an alleged computer hacker has been betrayed by his spineless government bowing to the demands of the jackbooted federales of US government.
He has been accused of owning a website that provides links or downloadable torrents to people in order that they can get copyright material free. This maybe a crime, but his alleged crime is pretty low on the scale of world events and the heavy handed approach to have demanded and successfully won through the thinly veiled guise of a court the right to have Richard O’Dwyer extradited to USA is by far an over reaction.

It appears that you no longer have to have set foot in USA in order to be prosecuted, if the FBI come knocking at your door with the aid of a UK police officer to confiscate your computer, that seems sufficient.

Secondly, the alleged crime was not perpetrated exclusively against the USA and it's citizens, it is an international problem as the name suggests WWW. Or world wide web.

Questions have to be asked, firstly why had not Prime minster Cameron or the home secretary said, thank you for informing us of the alleged crime, we'll take it from here and no you he won't be extradited the alleged crime was committed on UK Sovereign territory.
Secondly, where have FACT or Federation against copyright theft been while all this was going on under their noses.

The solution to this problem could have been quite straight forward. The website Tvshack.net could have simply been closed down (as is the case now). Vigilance by the authorities could also lead to the closure of the many other torrent movie and sport websites without the extraordinary amount of time and expense.

The fate of this young man now lies with the home secretary as to whether or not he is to be extradited, if he gets the thumbs down then he has one card left to play and that is to go to the court of human rights and if found guilty of the charge he could face 10 years in the nick and a $2000,000 fine.

If extradition does take place and a trial to go ahead state side, then perhaps some brave soul might consider setting up a campaign to raise money for the lad to defend himself, to give the court a level playing field as without doubt he will feel the full force of a very powerful and rich organization determined to make an example of him

The UK government has no interest in doing the right thing by holding the trial in UK, an extradition order would prove that it does not care about the welfare of it's citizens but that only of it's masters. And if you think that you have nothing to worry about as you do not take part in illegal activities, think again, they are coming after you if you download and as you will be equally as guilty as the website you download from. What is legal today may not be legal tomorrow, and what is OK in UK may not be acceptable in China., do we extradite a patron to China on the say so of the Chinese government because of an alleged breach in Chinese law? Presumably not!

Wake up people, you will see a lot more demands from corporate America coming to a town near you!
